Visiting the pawn shop, cash advance companies or robbing the bank or your local quick mart should not be your quick fix to getting out of debt. There are a number of ideas that you can apply to your situation.

8) Use coupons for grocery shopping. You can also obtain grocery from churches or charitable organizations and use the money saved for other pressing bills.

9) If you own a home, consider taking out a home equity loan with a low interest rate to pay off or down your debt. If your home is a source of your grief, consider selling it to rid yourself of the headache of maintaining it.

10) If you have skills that would be useful to others such as website design, article writing, drawing, programming etc, considering putting them to use on sites like guru.com.

11) Become more energy efficient. Switching to energy efficient appliances can save you a lot on your bill. If you can not afford the big items like washing machines, consider changing your light

bulbs to energy efficient ones. This can go along way to save you a lot of money. Unplug items that you are not using. Turn off lights and appliances in rooms that you are not in.

12) Rake up leaves. During the fall, the leaves come down fast. It is cold and not everyone would like to leave their cozy house to spend an hour or more each week cleaning up leaves. Use this to your advantage. In exchange for their comfort, have them pay you a fee to do the job they are dreading. Put out flyers to advertise your business.

13) Become a human billboard. Call up companies and see if they will pay you a fee for wearing a t-shirt or outfit for a period of time advertising their product. If you are a college student, use it to your advantage, remind the companies of the number of persons on campus who will be seeing their ads everyday.
